Meet Crimson Cowgirl

I capture the spirit of every horse show with passion and precision.

Hey there friend, I'm Laura. I was born and raised in Northern California in a small logging town called Shingletown. I'm the 4th generation to grow up on our families ranch. I grew up loving horses.

I showed horses in 4h, and that's when I fell in love with showing horses. Then my cousin was taking lessons to learn reining and I got to watch her take lessons and my eyes got even Bigger for horse showing. Then her trainer showed reined cow horse and holy moly my heart was set on it.

I have always loved photography. It all started when my mom let me use her Canon camera to take pictures at a rodeo. When she printed them I was so excited and hooked. I truly love capturing moments in camera. It has this heart warming excitement that I just captured a perfect moment Forever!

I was a hair dresser and when Covid hit, not only did that effect my business, I also got tendonitis in my shoulder. That took me out and I let the salon go. I decided then I'm gonna start a photography business. Just jumped right in not knowing anything but how to push a button in Auto mode.

I got my camera, then a laptop, and started building. I started shooting Ranch Sortings at home. Then one day a friend of mine asked, "How serious are you about this photography gig?" I said, "Uh pretty serious." LOL She said Mule Days is looking for a show photographer in Bishop. I was so excited! I sent an email and got the job. So my husband, Bill and I got some cameras and went shot Mule Days, My favorite show, no offense to other shows but this show is the Most Fun!

After Mule Days I picked up more shows at home, in Gerber, CA. Then I started second shooting for other photographers. I've got to shoot Jumping, Team Roping, Rodeo, Cutting, Reining, and Reined Cow Horse.

Now I'm on the road taking photos and now recording video, which I was so afraid to do, and making REELS. I truly LOVE my job. I love capturing beautiful horses and their riders. It makes me so happy to capture moments, edit them, send the photos, and hear how much people love their photos. I am so passionate about my work, so to hear them say they love them, makes me absolutely delighted.

Now you know a lil about me. I hope to see you in the show pen, and I'll capture a great moment of you and your awesome horse, mule, or donkey.

See you down the Trail
